While tutoring and editing wasn’t the original goal when I enrolled in college, it quickly became my destiny afterward. A destiny that I love. The written word has always been a passion of mine from an early age, so it was only natural to earn my undergraduate degree in English. Back then, the idea was to go to law school where I hoped writing would become a big part of my life. While writing did earn its place in my existence through various published works over the years, it is my acute attention to details that allow me to do what I do. Serving in AmeriCorps only solidified this path as I also fell in love with teaching. I learned that my students gain the most rewards with the individual attention that tutoring and small-group teaching can provide—an area where I thrive. This caused me to pursue my Master of Education degree so I can have the tools needed to pass on what I know to my students.
